On average a BISC student will undertake 1,100 hours of guided tuition over the academic year – this is compared to 950 hours in the UK.

As we don’t provide academic tuition in certain subjects (e.g. Religious Education / Home Economics) this means we can provide a greater focus on the core subject areas and Languages.

Assessment opportunities

Students will sit a formal internal assessment for all subjects (excluding PHSCE and PE) every 5 to 6 weeks, the results of which are then published in their ½ termly report.

Furthermore, all students will sit their end-of-year examinations in the month of June. This assessment will encompass all the different topics taught throughout the year and will provide us with the necessary information on the progression of your child.

*Parents are encouraged to ask for their child’s assessments so that they can have a better understanding of what they have been taught in the classroom.

Teachers

All Secondary Teachers are UK trained subject specialists. This means they will hold a first degree in their subject specialism, plus a Post Graduate Certificate in Education & Qualified Teacher Status.

*This does not include our French or Arabic teachers who are Moroccan nationals.
