BISC Curriculum

At BISC, the curriculum includes all the planned activities that we as a school organise in order to promote learning, personal growth, development, and wellbeing. It includes not only the formal requirements of the Cambridge Curriculum, but also the range of extra-curricular activities that the school organises in order to enrich the experiences of our children.

BISC provides a curriculum that is broad and balanced, within international constraints. The school strongly values the place of the humanities, arts, music and aims to sustain their place within the curriculum. Citizenship will be promoted within PSHCE, on special Citizenship Days, and through PSHE lessons. A flexible timetable widens the choices available to students and enables them to follow a curriculum that is best suited to their interests, skills and needs in the Secondary School.

Given the importance of a wider curriculum, we place a greater emphasis on the Humanities. Subjects include History, Geography and aspects of Global Perspectives and are largely based on the standards set by the UK National Curriculum.

As for Modern Foreign Languages, our curriculum is based on the requirements set by the Moroccan National Curriculum. These are bespoke to the school and were approved by the ISI inspectorate in 2023 and in our most recent inspection by The Moroccan Ministry of Education in 2024.

Finally, the school has introduced Robotics and Computer Coding as a stand-alone subject for the first time. This is especially exciting given the ever-increasing importance of these subjects in our rapidly changing World.
